We join you in lifting up your grandson Elijah, your daughter-in-law Kaylynn, and your brother John Levy Rivers in prayer, trusting in the mighty name of Jesus for their needs.
Let us first pray for Elijah. We ask, Lord, that you remove any negative influences from Elijah's life, those who would encourage him to harbor unforgiveness towards his mother and Bobby.
Father God, we hold onto hope, hope you give us in Ephesians 2:13 (WEB) "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ." Bring Elijah closer to you, to have an unshakable wonderful relationship with you. Let him give his life, heart, and soul fully to God.
For the relationship between Bobby and Elijah, we plead the blood of Jesus, asking for reconciliation, restoration, and renewal. God, who is able to do more than all we could even dare to ask or believe. We can only imagine what you have in store for their relationship. In Acts 16:31 (WEB) you say "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." Salvation is the beginning, we pray Elijah sees Jesus at work in Bobby's life, glorify yourself in miraculous reconciliation and renewal.
For Kaylynn and her family, we cry out to you, Lord, for salvation, deliverance, and restoration. Draw them to yourself this Christmas, give them real joy, joy that does not depend on circumstance but rather the secure knowledge of your presence. You have provided a way out for them during this holiday season and into all eternity. Lavish your love on them, Father, guide them as they seek you.
For your brother John Levy Rivers lift him up to you, Father, for salvation, for a softened heart, so your kindness can lead him to everlasting life. In Luke 6:31 (WEB) you show us how to treat others, "Treat others in the same way that you would have them treat you." He has been mistreating you and Mary, humble him so that he loves you and loves others for your glory. We pray for John to turn his life to you Lord, that the joy of the Lord would be his strength, so he could be loving, caring, kind, and supportive.
Girthgus, we encourage you to be forgiving of all wrongdoings in your heart toward John in Ephesians 4:32 (WEB "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." But whatever you do, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to Father God through him.
Forgiveness is paramount and is intrinsically woven into salvation, the very thing we want most for those we love. Surely we can give it to those who need it most in our lives. For Jesus said in Matthew 6:15 (WEB) "But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
We cannot forgot the price Jesus paid in Isaiah 53:5 (WEB) " But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.". We are able to forgive through Jesus dying all alone to reconcile us with our Heavenly Father. Look to Jesus when forgiveness is not able to be mustered up in your heart.
Rebuke bitterness to make sure it does not hold onto you. In Hebrews 12:15 (WEB) "See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled. As saying "Look after each other to make sure bitterness doesn't strings us along in making decisions that distance our self from other Christians".
Lord, we ask for these miracles to happen this Christmas, for the glory of your name. Thank you for always listening to our prayers, even though we have not seen you, we love you; and though we do not see you now, for believing we greatly rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and full of glory. In Jesus Christ Mighty name we pray. Amen.
Our Father who is in Heaven, Hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give each one of us today our daily bread to taste and see your goodness. The miracles to happen in all our lives so healing and restoration can take place in you name.
Forgive each one of us our trespasses and going astray, as we also forgive those who trespass or go astray against us. Do not lead us into further temptation, delivering each one of us from evil, righteousness, and justice is the foundation of your throne (Psalm 89:14 WEB). In Jesus Christ's Mighty Holy Name. Amen.
