We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you and your husband Stephen are facing with his health. We stand with you in prayer, trusting in God's healing power and His divine will.
Firstly, we want to encourage you to continue your faithfulness in praying for your husband. The effective, fervent prayer of the righteous accomplishes much.
But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let that person not think that he will receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:6-8 WEB
Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. James 5:16 WEB
Remember God can use this trial for a greater purpose, it may be discipline or it may be to bring God glory in ways you could not imagine.
We want to remind you that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. Although we pray for physical healing, we also pray for spiritual healing and strengthening for both you and Stephen.
But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves. We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed; always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh. So then death works in us, but life in you. 2 Corinthians 4:7-12 WEB
Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. James 5:13-16
Therefore, let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother Stephen and his wife. Lord, You know their struggles and their pains. You know the fears and the doubts that may be creeping in. We pray, Father, that You would surround them with Your peace, Your love, and Your healing power.
Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon Stephen. If it is Your will, Father, restore his health, strengthen his body, and give him the strength to overcome this trial. We pray for wisdom and discernment for the doctors treating him, that they would have the knowledge and understanding to provide the best care.
We also pray for his wife, that You would fill her with Your comfort and peace. Help her to trust in You, even in this difficult time. Give her the strength and endurance to support her husband and to continue in her faithful prayers.
Lord, we know that You are able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. We trust in Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your healing power. We pray for a miracle. We pray for healing. We pray for strength. We pray for faith to be glorified. We pray for salvation and believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the only way to eternal life. And we ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue seeking God's will, trusting in His goodness, and believing in His healing power. Remember that God is faithful, and He will not leave you. You have called on Him and He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you. He has promised to heal you.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! Luke 11:9-13
