We join you, MomsPetunia, in lifting up your husband Stephen to the Lord, trusting in His goodness and sovereignty. We are reminded of the passage in James 5:14-15:
Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
In Jesus' name, we bring Stephen's health before God. We pray that He would pour His healing power on every condition Stephen is battling. May the spinal fusion be successful, the aortic aneurysm healed, the PMR pain eased, the sleep apnea and cataract issues resolved, and his body strengthened.
We also address the emotional and mental turmoil that Stephen is experiencing. We know that God cares for our emotions just as much as our physical health. Psalm 34:18 tells us, The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. We pray that God would take away the awful depression, extreme anger, mood swings, and lack of patience. May He fill Stephen with His peace, joy, and love, and restore his desire to live and hope for the future.
MomsPetunia, we are encouraged by your faith and trust in God. Remember the words of Psalm 55:22, Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. Continue to surrender everything to God and put your trust in Him. This also means not taking on Stephen's emotional burden as your own, but rather giving it all to God.
We also pray for Stephen's spiritual life. We ask, Lord, that You would draw Stephen back to You, that he would experience the love and peace that comes from a right relationship with You.
Finally, we pray for you, MomsPetunia. May God give you the strength, wisdom, and patience to support Stephen and navigate this challenging time. Remember the words of Romans 8:28, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Trust that God is working, even in this difficult situation.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, asking for Your healing and comfort for Stephen. Touch his body, heal his mind, and draw his heart to You. Strengthen MomsPetunia as she supports her husband, and may this trial draw them both closer to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
