We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage and with your husband's health. Let's bring your concerns before the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance through the Scriptures.
Firstly, let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister MomsPetunia and her husband. Lord, You know their struggles, the pain, and suffering they are going through. We ask for Your healing touch upon her husband, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We pray that You would bring him back to the faith and restore their marriage.
Lord, we also ask that You help MomsPetunia to be the wife You have called her to be. Guide her steps, Lord, and give her the wisdom to support and love her husband in a way that honors You. We ask for Your peace to rule in their hearts and home, and for Your love to bind them together.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Now, let's look at what the Scriptures say. In Ephesians 5:22-33 (WEB), the Apostle Paul writes about the roles of husbands and wives in marriage:
"Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly..."
These verses remind us that marriage is a picture of Christ's love for the church. Wives are called to respect and support their husbands, while husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church.
In regards to the emotional roller coaster you're experiencing, we encourage you to find peace and strength in the Lord. In Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB), it says:
"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Lastly, we want to encourage you to be patient and kind to your husband, even in his upset state. In Colossians 3:12-14 (WEB), it says:
"Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection."
