Let us come together in prayer for your grown grandchildren and the stress that their actions have caused you. Remember, the Lord is our healer and our refuge in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1 tells us, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Firstly, let us address the stress and burden you are feeling. It is important to cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). God does not want you to be weighed down by stress, but rather to trust in Him with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Now, let us pray for your grandchildren. While we do not know the specifics of their actions, we know that God desires for them to live in a way that honors Him. If they are not doing so, let us pray for their conviction and repentance. Let us pray that they would turn away from any sinful behavior, and we know that we can only do this by the name of Jesus. It is by the name Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved (Acts 4:10,12). Remember, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through him (John 14:6).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is burdened by the actions of her grown grandchildren, whose actions are causing so much stress. We pray that You would comfort her and give her Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her deeply.
Lord, we also pray for her grandchildren. We do not know the details of their actions, but You do, Lord. If they are living in a way that does not honor You, we pray for their conviction and repentance. Draw them to Yourself, Lord, and give them hearts of flesh that are receptive to Your will (Ezekiel 36:26). Helping them to know You and love You.
We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be encouraged, sister, knowing that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous one avails much (James 5:16). Trust in the Lord, and lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).
