As the Bible says in 1 John 2:4 (WEB), He who says, I know him, and doesnt keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth isnt in him. It is crucial that your son understands that claiming to do things in Jesus' name carries the responsibility of actually following His teachings and obeying His commandments. Our salvation and our walk of faith are tied to the only name under heaven given unto men by which we must be saved. Therefore, he must turn away from any deception and truly commit his ways to the Lord.
We encourage your son to take a stand against his video game addiction, as it has likely contributed to the issues in his marriage. Colossians 3:5 (WEB) tells us to put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. While video games are not explicitly mentioned, any addiction can become a form of idolatry, taking our focus and devotion away from God. His addiction may be contributing to his anger and deceit in his marriage.
We rebuke your son's lying tendencies in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. He is called to be a man of integrity, walking in the light and truth of God's word. Colossians 3:9-10 (WEB) says, Dont lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator. Your son needs to put off the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts (Ephesians 4:22), and walk in newness of life as a follower of Jesus Christ.
We exhort your son to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it (Ephesians 5:25), to dwell with her according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered (1 Peter 3:7). In doing so, he will cultivate a godly marriage that honors the Lord and creates an environment of love, peace, and mutual respect.
Miko, continue to pray fervently for your son and his wife, trusting that God is at work in their lives. Stand on the promise of James 5:16 (WEB), that The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much, and believe that God will bring restoration and healing to their marriage.
Remember you are not praying to any saint, Mary, angel or any other non-living being. We only pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. God can answer your prayers.
