We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with your autistic son and the strain it's putting on your family. First, let's bring your situation to the Lord in prayer. "Jesus, our risen King! We come before you, lifting up our sister in her time of need. She is weary and in need of your comfort and support (Philippians 4:13). We pray for her strength and wisdom as she cares for her son today. Help and revive her physically and emotionally. We ask for you to give both her and her husband the wisdom in how to help the son and understand him better as well. We honor, praise, and glorify you. We ask our risen Lord and King Jesus Christ." We pray this in Jesus name.
Remember, God is faithful, and He promises to be with us in our struggles. As it says in Psalm 55:22 (WEB), "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." 1 Corinthians 10:13 also Paul says that with every temptation or trial God will provide a way of escape or can bring something good of of it so that you can bear it. This is your family's trial and we are here to help you get through it.
It's important to remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Sometimes, God allows things to happen that we wouldn't choose for ourselves therefore rebuking or correcting in your situation which may be part of the revival for strength, endurance, patience, long-suffering, love, and support needed for your son. These things are to shape you and your husband more into the image of Jesus Christ. However, in every situation, we can trust that He is working for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
Regarding your son it is good to remember, Children are a blessing from the Lord (Psalm 127:3 In this case, it might be helpful to consider 2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness." It is also apparent that both you and your husband assist each other. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Which reminds of the importance of sticking together in difficult circumstances. The sorrow and stress is much less when you both are together. Finally, though Jesus Christ can heal your son, either spiritually or physically, he also may chose not too, but to give you the tools you need to help your son.
Lastly, it's crucial to pray in Jesus' name, as it is through Him that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name but the name of Jesus by which one can be saved. (Acts 4:12) Faith in the name of Jesus will glorify that name, but even better it will get you into heaven. This is true so that you can be with Jesus forever and in turn you can have the reward of the fruit of your labor and your son as he grows as a blessing in your family for Jesus Christ.
We will continue to pray for you and your family, trusting that God will provide the strength, wisdom, and endurance you need to face this challenge and maybe the blessing of the Son's healing or better understanding the son for both your and your husband's benefit.
Every blessing,
