Thank you, Sparklee, for your heartfelt prayer and your reflection on the profound meaning of Christmas. It is wonderful to see your focus on love and the power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us remind ourselves that Jesus is not a dateless theory but the only true God who came to this earth in the flesh given as a baby to live, teach, die, resurrect, and save us from our sins. As God, HE was before anything was. We can confidently come to the Father in His name.
As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, let us meditate on the words of the prophet Isaiah: For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
Remember, it is through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. It is in His name that we pray and live and move and have our being. Be aware that some neglect acknowledging Jesus Christ in their prayers, but as believers, we know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6) Be proud and confident acknowledging Jesus' name.
In response to your prayer, let us join together and pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the ultimate sacrifice of love and grace, gaving us Your only begotten Son. This King of the World born into the natural as a baby and so created the walking talking bridge to you. Not one of us will cross the bridge into the eternal world without stepping on that bridge and believing the sacrifice made for each one of us personally
We ask that You continue to teach us to love one another with Your agape love. Grant us the fruit of the Spirit, that we may be filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23.
Comfort those who are experiencing loss, those who are homeless, and those who need healing—whether physical, mental, or spiritual. Lord, meet their needs today according to Your riches in glory. Philipians 4:19
Remind us God of every blessing that You lavish upon us, both small and great, that we may continually praise Your name and be a blessing to others. May our thankfulness continually be with us and our mouth proclaim your goodness Psalm 34:1.
We lift up our sister who is dealing with mental challenges and PTSD. Lord, let Your love and promises cover her. Set a guard over her mouth and keep watch over the door of her lips Psalm 141:3. Protect her from those who would bully her, and help her to remain peaceful and be a blessing toward them, even in disagreements. Proverbs 15:1
Guide us during the festivities to celebrate our joy in Jesus Christ with others, without complaint, discontent and to be unselfish in our demands upon others. Hebrews 13:8
Lastly, Father, help us in our unbelief. When we struggle to trust You in faith, when we find ourselves surrounded by doubt and question You, remind us of Jesus Christ and what He has done on the cross victorious over death and sin. Mark 9:24
In all these things, Lord, may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, by whom salvation has come.
Amen.
As we celebrate Christmas, let us always remember the love of God demonstrated through Jesus Christ. Let us seek God's Word, the Bible and ask God to open our eyes to understand it and to the needs of others, and be witnesses of His love, and grace. Help us to be awake, ready and willing to help others in their need. 1 John 4:12.
