Let's begin by acknowledging that all mercy and love ultimately come from God, and it is through His Son, Jesus Christ, that we have access to these blessings. As it is written in 1 John 4:7-8 (WEB), "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love."
It is wonderful to see a desire to spread love and mercy to all, likening it to the way Cheerios are dispersed freely and widely. However, it is crucial to remember that true love and mercy come from a heart transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. As we share this love, we should also share the source of this love, Jesus Christ.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that You are the source of all love and mercy. We pray for the one who submitted this request, that Your love would fill their heart and overflow to others. Help them to show mercy and love, not just as a general kindness, but as a reflection of Your character.
We pray that as they spread love and mercy, they would also share the good news of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to You, Father. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), 'There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!'
Help us all to be beacons of Your love and mercy, drawing others to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
As we go forth spreading love and mercy, let us ensure that our actions point others to Jesus Christ. Let us not forget that while love and mercy are free to us who accept Jesus Christ, it cost Jesus and God His life and allowed sin to enter the world. Let this thought fill us with the fruit of the spirit and let the Holy Spirit guide us in all actions. It is by God's word that we should live and follow through. It is by the Holy Spirit that we are able to live and abide in God's word and will. It is our duty to spread the Gospel and make disciples of all nations. As it is written in Matthew 28:19-20 (WEB), "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen."
