We are truly saddened to hear about the challenging and painful situation you are facing with your spouse. Let us first assure you that God cares deeply for you and your well-being. Remember that God’s design for marriage is one of love, respect, and mutual support, as outlined in Ephesians 5:25-28 (WEB): "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself."
It is crucial to understand that God does not condone abuse of any kind. Verbal, mental, and emotional abuse are contrary to God’s will for marriage. In such cases, it is important to seek safety and support. Proverbs 4:23 (WEB) reminds us, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." Your health and safety, as well as that of your pets, are paramount.
First, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved sister who is suffering greatly. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection and guidance in this time of trial. Give her the strength and courage to make the decisions that will ensure her safety and well-being. Comfort her heart and provide her with the wisdom to know what steps to take next.
Lord, we also pray for her spouse. We ask that You heal his mind and bring peace to his heart. If it is Your will, restore him to a place of mental and emotional health. But above all, Lord, protect this sister and her pets from any harm.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel from trusted Christian friends, pastors, or professional counselors who can provide you with practical steps and support. It is not wrong to separate yourself from a harmful situation, especially when your safety is at stake. Consider the words of Psalm 55:22 (WEB), "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved."
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God's help and healing. If you have not yet asked Jesus into your heart and life, please do so. This is a critical part of God's plan. Read John 3:16 (WEB): "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." Repent from evil and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. The Bible further states in Acts 4:12 (WEB): "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Please stay strong and continue to pray without ceasing and trust in the Lord for every aspect of this crisis.
