We understand that you are going through a tremendously difficult time, and we want to assure you that you are not alone in this struggle. The battle you're experiencing is spiritual and psychological, and it's important to address both aspects in Jesus' name.
Firstly, it's crucial to recognize that the thoughts you're experiencing are not your own but are spiritual attacks intended to draw you away from God. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12 WEB:
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
The fact that you are disturbed by these thoughts and do not want to act on them shows that you have a heart that desires to follow God. It's important to remember that having intrusive thoughts is not the same as willfully sinning. However, it's crucial to resist and reject these thoughts immediately as they come.
In 2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB, we are told:
casting down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
Regarding your fears about hell, remember that if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are saved by grace through faith, not by your own efforts. Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB says:
for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.
It is only in Jesus Christ that we have salvation and it is only by His name that we can approach God. We need to call on Jesus and believe in Him to save us. Also, we are saved by grace through faith and it is by Jesus we can be saved.
Joel 2:32 WEB says:
It will come to pass, that whoever will call on the name of Yahweh shall be saved
Acts 4:10-12 WEB says:
10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. 11 He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.' 12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Continue to trust in God's grace and mercy, and do not let condemnation overwhelm you. In times of distress, call upon the name of Jesus and seek His face.
We also advise you to seek professional help from a Christian counselor or therapist who can provide you with practical tools to manage these intrusive thoughts. There is no shame in seeking help, and it's a sign of strength and wisdom.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is experiencing spiritual and psychological distress. We rebuke the enemy and his attempts to draw Your child away from You. Lord, we ask that You fill their mind with Your peace, Your truth, and Your presence. Help them to take every thought captive and to reject any thought that does not come from You.
Surround them with Your love and remind them of their identity in Christ. Give them the strength and wisdom to seek professional help and to trust in Your grace and mercy. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we strongly encourage you to stay firm in your faith and not heed any advice that will cause you to abandon God. Psalms 55:22 WEB says:
Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.
