We understand the struggles you're facing, and we want you to know that you are not alone. The desire for approval from peers can be overwhelming, but it's crucial to remember that our ultimate focus should be on pleasing God, not man. As it is written in Galatians 1:10, "For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ."
Regarding the struggle with pornography, we must address this sin directly, as it does not align with biblical principles. Jesus said, "But I tell you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5:28) Pornography distorts the way we view the opposite sex and damages our relationships. It is important to repent and turn away from this sin. Remember, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in their time of need. Lord, we ask that You help them to shift their focus from the approval of man to the approval of You. Guide their steps and give them the strength to live a life that is pleasing to You.
Lord, we also come against the stronghold of pornography in their life. We pray for forgiveness and complete deliverance from this sin. Help them to see others through Your eyes, with love and respect. Provide them with the way of escape from temptation and heal their relationships with the opposite sex.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray and seek God's face. Engage in fellowship with other believers who can support and encourage you in your walk with Christ. Remember, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." (James 5:16)
Lastly, we notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request. It is important to remember that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written, "For 'whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:13) We encourage you to fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)
