We are saddened to hear about the struggles you and your son are facing, but we are here to pray and offer biblical guidance. We will lift up your son's situation to God, who is able to do abundantly more than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20, WEB).
Firstly, we want to encourage you to continue standing firm in your love and support for your son, while not enabling his harmful behavior. It is important to set boundaries with love, as you have done by not allowing him to live at home without seeking help. This is a principle seen in 2 Thessalonians 3:10, which says, "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.'"
We must also remember that God desires that none should perish but that all should reach repentance (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). This includes your son, and it is not too late for him to turn his life around with God's help.
Let us pray together:
*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your divine intervention in the life of Rulourtha's son. Lord, we pray that You soften his heart and open his eyes to the help that is being offered. We ask that You give him the strength and courage to accept Ted's assistance or that the court hearing leads to the help he needs. We pray against the strongholds of addiction and mental health struggles, and we ask that You set him free from these chains, in Jesus' name.*
*Lord, we also pray for Rulourtha, that You grant them peace, wisdom, and unfailing love as they navigate this difficult season. Guide their steps and give them the strength to continue advocating for their son, trusting that You are working behind the scenes.*
*We thank You that no matter how bleak the situation looks, You are able to turn it around for good. We claim the promise in Romans 8:28, WEB, that "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose."*
*In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.*
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God (John 14:6, WEB). If you or your son have not yet accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB).
