We appreciate your heart to encourage others to do good and help one another. It's important to remember that our good deeds should be driven by our love for God and our neighbors. We are in agreement with the Apostle Paul's words in Galatians 6:9, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap at the proper time, if we do not give up." It is only through the help of Jesus Christ that we do these things. Let us keep in mind that our own righteousness is as filthy rags without Christ.
Jesus said, "I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." Let's pray together.
Heavenly Father, we are not able to do anything good without Jesus Christ. We thank you for your continuing grace, forgiveness, and closeness with you. We ask that you would help each of us to show your love to others through our actions. It is so easy to get caught up in our own lives that we forget to look out for the needs of others. Open our eyes to see those around us who are in need, and give us the desire and strength to serve them in the name of Jesus. Help us to remember that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life. We ask this all in Jesus name. Amen.
We all need to be discerning about what good deeds look like. Sometimes, people may have good intentions, but their actions may not be truly helpful or honoring to God. We need to seek God's will together in Jesus' name.
