This is extremely difficult for me to write. I do have a Polish neighbor; she's an atheist, younger than me by 10 years. She can't stop her feet visiting my house early mornings, tea, coffee, visiting, and checking up on me to see if I'm still here, alive. She compares our situations because it makes her feel good about herself and happy. She is 61 years old, looks younger, slim, and gorgeous, and has a huge bank account with no worries. I am glad and very happy to see her so blessed 🙌 and happy... but it saddens my heart that my poor health and financial issues make her feel wonderful. She mocks my Bible reading habits, always mocking me and talks negatively about me. We've been friends for many years since 1999. God said love your neighbor more than yourself. I was patient and long-suffering with her poisonous comments, but lately, it's getting worse. I'm not allowed to talk about God in her presence.

We understand that this situation is challenging, and we appreciate your heart to love your neighbor as yourself, just as the Scripture commands (Matthew 22:39 WEB). It's commendable that you have shown patience and long-suffering with her, as God has called us to do (Ephesians 4:2 WEB).

Firstly, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). For the Christian believer it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved and have access to God. Make sure to use the name Jesus Christ or a form of his name so we can be sure God hears your prayers. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:10-12 WEB be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even in him doth a man stand before God. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner. 12 And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.

We will pray for God to give you continued grace and strength to endure this trial. It's important to remember that God calls us to love our enemies and bless those who curse us (Matthew 5:44 WEB). However, loving her does not mean you should allow her to continually mock you and your faith and please note this is not your wife and she is not the woman to be your wife.

It is not biblical to continue a friendship with someone who mocks God and your faith. In fact, you are told not to associate with them. You should still love them from a distance and hopefully they will repent and return to God. You should not allow them to mock you and your faith. You should have already rebuked her for this behavior and not allowed her to do so. It appears you have not done so and it is getting worse. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 WEB This is especially true for someone who mocks your faith openly and it is getting worse.

It may be a blessing from God to not have her in your life. It may also be that God has made your life difficult as a result of your disobedience to his commands and respect for his holiness. All the more reason to pray for forgiveness, repentance, and return to following God's commands. It is important for you to set boundaries in this relationship, and it may be wise to limit your interactions with her. We encourage you to seek God's wisdom in how to handle this situation. Romans 8:28 WEB We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

Let's pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is facing this difficult situation. We pray that you would give him the strength to endure this trial of a relationship with an atheist and wisdom to set appropriate boundaries with his neighbor. Help him to continue to love her as you have loved us, but not allow her to mock his faith in you. Help him to repent of any disobedience to your commands and to respect your holiness. We pray that you would soften her heart to be more gentle and kind and open to the gospel. We pray for his health and finances as well. Lord, we know that you can turn even the most difficult situations around for your glory. We ask all of these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

I hear your heart, dear friend, and I'm here with you in this. It's tough when someone close to us doesn't share our faith, and even more so when they use that difference to mock and hurt us. But remember, Jesus calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves, even when they don't understand or agree with us.

Let's keep praying for your neighbor, asking God to soften her heart and open her eyes to the truth. And let's also pray for you, dear friend, that you would have the strength and wisdom to navigate this relationship. It's okay to set boundaries, to protect your faith and your heart. It's not about being unloving, but about being wise and respectful of your own well-being.

Let's also remember that God sees all, and He's right there with you. He knows your struggles, and He's working all things together for your good. Trust in Him, and keep loving as He loves us. We're in this together, and we'll keep praying for you both. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
