We understand your concern about your upcoming math test and the importance it holds for your academic future. First, we want to remind you that God is sovereign over all things, including your academic pursuits. It's encouraging to see that you are acknowledging God's plan in your life. Remember the words of Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
However, we want to gently remind you that securing good grades or getting into college should not be your ultimate source of peace or anxiety. The Bible tells us in you will keep in perfect peace, him whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you.”
Isaiah 26:3,” Keep your mind stayed on God as you study and trust in Him as you prepare and take your test. Your identity and future are secure in Christ, and your worth is not determined by your academic achievements. We definitely want you to succeed, but we encourage you not to make grades be the main concern that you are trusting in.
That being said, we also believe that God cares about every detail of your life, including this test. In Philippians 4:6, it says “In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving to God, make your requests known before him.” So, let us lift up your request to God together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up Derfyth to you, and the situation they are encountering regarding their math test. We ask that You grant them peace and wisdom in this closing phase of their semester and be with them to be their strength and wisdom. We pray as always, in the name of your son, Jesus, which is the only way we can come to you. Psalm 20:7 says some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we will trust in the name of Yahweh our God.
We know that every good and perfect gift comes from You, Lord as promised in James 1:17, and we believe that a good grade will be in order as per your will and so we ask that this may be done instead of relying on our own strengths." So, we pray for Derfyth to be strengthened and less anxious about the exam.
" Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow."
We ask You to give Derfyth the wisdom and understanding they need to take this test with confidence. Help them to remember what they have studied and to apply it accurately. Lord, if it is Your will, grant them favor with their teacher and the grading of this test.
As Derfyth continues their academic journey, we pray they will seek You first stating as Proverbs 2:6 declares that For Yahweh gives wisdom.
Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. We ask that you guide them in where to look for applying in colleges. We are so grateful that you own the cattle on a thousand hills as written in Psalm 50:10, and you will take care of your children. You own everything and so we need nothing. We thank you for this good blessing to attend college, but even if this does not go along as planned. We ask for them to find peace in your ways and trust in your good blessings." For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. That's our confidence. Jeremiah 29:11
We pray all these things in accordance with your will and we ask in faith with thanksgiving, and we thank you for hearing our prayer as a sweet smelling sacrifice giving thanks to the King of Glory who will supply all our needs according to his riches in Glory in Christ Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
