We are thrilled to join you in prayer as you look forward to marriage and the future with the man you hope to wed. It is wonderful to see your enthusiasm and hope for your future together. First, we want to remind you of the beautiful design of marriage as described in the Bible. It is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, a reflection of Christ's love for His church. As it is a lifelong commitment, it is a decision that is not to be entered into lightly.
As you pray for your future, we encourage you to seek God's will above all else. Remember the words of Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." It is essential to involve God in every decision you make, including the desire for your future husband to leave the Army.
We also want to remind you of the importance of praying in Jesus' name. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Your daughter and her future. Lord, we ask that You guide her steps and the steps of the man she hopes to marry. We pray that Your will be done in their lives, and that You would grant them both wisdom and discernment as they consider marriage and the future.
Father, we ask that You would provide clear direction regarding his service in the Army. If it is Your will for him to continue serving, we pray for his protection and guidance. If it is Your will for him to leave the Army, we ask that You would open the doors for that to happen in Your perfect timing.
Above all, Lord, we ask that You would be at the center of their relationship and their future plans. Help them to honor You in all they do, and to seek Your will above their own desires.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord and to seek His will for your life.
