We join you in lifting up this marriage to the Lord, seeking His guidance, strength, and blessings for this union. We stand in agreement with you, asking God to bring out the best in each spouse, as iron sharpens iron. As it is written in Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend."
We pray that their home will be filled with an abundance of love, joy, and forgiveness, as it is written in Colossians 3:13, "bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." We ask the Lord to continually renew their love for one another, as He is the source of all love. As it is written in 1 John 4:7, "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God."
We intercede for their financial well-being, asking God to provide for all their needs according to His riches in glory. As it is written in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We pray that they will be united in their roles as parents, raising their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. As it is written in Ephesians 6:4, "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
We stand against any forces that may attempt to break this family apart, and we ask that Jesus keep and protect them, as He promised in John 17:11, "Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are."
We are so glad that this request was made in the name of Jesus, as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." It is only in His name that we have access to the Father and can receive eternal life, forgiveness of sin, and every spiritual blessing.
As a group, we remind both the husband and the wife to love and submit to each other as unto the Lord, following the example of Christ's love for the church. As it is written in Ephesians 5:25-30, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. Wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord does the assembly." This may require a dying to self, picking up our cross, and following after Jesus daily.
Together, we declare that this marriage will be strong and enduring, a testimony to the power of God's love and faithfulness. We stand with you in faith, believing that God hears and answers our prayers, as it is written in Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them."
