We join you in prayer, asking God to guide you and prepare you for a godly marriage. Remember Jesus taught in Matthew 19:4-6 WEB, "He answered, 'Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, "For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh?" So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.'"
Let us pray together. Father, in Jesus' name, we come before you lifting up your child who desires to be married and start a family. We ask that you will guide them, prepare their heart, and help them to trust in your perfect timing.
We pray for a spouse who sees, accepts, appreciates and helps them to feel safe, valued, heard, and loved consistently. A spouse that is a genuine believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, we ask that you reveal 'the one' to them, that you cause them to meet and talk this month if it is your will. Now we know that a 'future spouse' will love them before they are a spouse, but the 'spouse' term is only used for a man and a woman in wedlock. If they are not married yet, help them to stay pure before marriage. That they would not fall into the temptation of sin such as fornication. In Jesus' name, we ask these things.
Take comfort in Psalm 37:4 WEB, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Trust in God's timing and remember that He has a plan for you. Seek Him first, and He will honor your heart's desires according to His will.
While the heart's desire is for marriage, we must remember that God may have other plans to complete first. A spouse should not be sought to end loneliness. The married couple should both be complete Christians. They are to help each other serve the Lord Jesus Christ. This gives a greater purpose to marriage.
Finally, we must remember to be equally yoked with a fellow believer. 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" This is very important for a successful Christian marriage.
