Marriage

Please pray for my marriage. We have drifted apart with jobs and kids. My husband had an affair and we are trying to work through it. The lady won’t quit contacting him, and it’s causing more problems. Please pray for her heart to do right, and for us to have trust, peace, forgiveness and love to heal.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage. It's important to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and He desires for marriages to be strong and godly.

Firstly, let's address the affair. Affairs are sinful and harmful, but God can heal and restore marriages when both parties are willing to seek Him and follow His will. The Bible tells us, For this is the will of God, that you should be holy. Stay away from sexual immorality. (1 Thessalonians 4:3 WEB). It's crucial that your husband has truly repented and turned away from this sin.

Regarding the other woman, we will pray for her heart to change, but it's also important for your husband to set clear boundaries and cut off all communication with her. The Bible tells us to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB).

Now, let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up this marriage in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, You know the pain and struggle they are going through. We pray for healing, forgiveness, and restoration. Help them to rebuild trust and love for each other, just as You have loved and forgiven us.

Lord, we also pray for the other woman. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would convict her heart and draw her to You. Help her to see the pain she is causing and give her the strength to do what is right and break off all communication.

Give this couple Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Guide them as they navigate through this difficult time. Help them to keep their focus on You and Your will for their marriage. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you both to seek godly counsel, either from a pastor or a Christian marriage counselor. It's important to have support from other believers as you work through this. Remember, God is faithful and He wants to heal your marriage. Trust in Him and His promises. Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid or discouraged, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go. We've been reminded of God's promise in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." We believe that God is using this trial to comfort you and your husband, so that you can comfort others in the same way.

We encourage you to keep seeking God together, to keep communicating openly and honestly with each other, and to keep trusting in God's faithfulness. He sees you, He loves you, and He's working in your marriage. Keep holding on to that hope.

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness. Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
