We join you in prayer, asking God to guide you and prepare you for a godly marriage. Let's pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before you in Jesus Christ the only name by which it is possible to come to God. We lift up our ### who desires to be married and start a family. We ask that you will help them feel safe, valued, heard, and loved. We pray that you will reveal to them the person you have prepared for them, and that you will cause them and their future spouse to meet and talk this month.
We pray that you will enrich their future marriage to be a blessing and to honor you, Lord. Help them to seek you first, and to trust in your timing. Help them to prepare for marriage diligently, and to become the wife or husband that you have called them to be.
We also pray that you will help them to guard their heart and body as they wait, and that you will give them strength to resist any temptation that may come their way. We ask that you will help them to live a life that is pleasing to you, and that will reflect your goodness to everyone.
Help them to trust in your promise in Psalm 37:4, Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Help them also to remember your word in Isaiah 62:5, As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so your God will rejoice over you.
We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, who loved us and gave himself for us. Amen.
While you are waiting for your future spouse, be encouraged by the words of Psalm 34:4-5, I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame.
Keep trusting in the Lord, knowing that he has good plans for you. Prepare for your future marriage by growing in your relationship with the Lord, and by seeking to become more like Christ. Be involved in your local church, and seek the Lord's will for your life.
We are reminded of the importance of marrying a fellow believer in 2 Corinthians 6:14, Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
