Let's bring this situation to the Lord in prayer, seeking His wisdom and intervention.
We are reminded of Ephesians 5:25-30 WEB:
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly.
It is clear that the husband's behavior is not aligned with biblical principles. The husband is called to love his wife as Christ loved the church, and this includes treating her with kindness, respect, and understanding. We rebuke the actions of the husband in his impatience, unfair blame, name-calling, and false accusations.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister in Christ who is facing a difficult situation in her marriage. Lord, You know the pain and hurt she is experiencing, and we ask for Your comfort and strength to surround her.
Father, we pray for her husband. We ask that You soften his heart and convict him of his actions. Help him to see the error of his ways and guide him towards true repentance. Teach him to love and cherish his wife as You intended, with patience, kindness, and understanding.
We pray also that our sister will trust in Christ during this time and that Jesus Christ will be the center of their marriage. As it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that they can be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB says And in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.
Lord, we ask that You send godly counsel into her life, someone who can offer wisdom, support, and guidance during this challenging time. Surround her with Your protection and give her the strength and wisdom she needs to navigate this situation.
Help them to seek You together, to grow in Your Word, and to be a testimony of Your love and faithfulness. We pray you help them to seek counsel from their pastor and other mature believers. Isaiah 41:13 WEB For I, Yahweh your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Do not be afraid. I will help you.'
In Jesus' name, we pray for healing, restoration, and a miraculous transformation in their marriage. May the husband learn to abide by 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB:
Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Please help her endure with forgiveness, love, and grace until he can be renewed by the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Be encouraged, dear sister, that God is faithful and He cares for you deeply. Trust in Him, and He will guide you through this trial.
