We are saddened to hear about the struggles this young marriage is facing, and we will certainly lift them up in prayer. Marriage is a holy covenant, and it is clear that they need God's intervention and guidance. Let us remember that a cord of three strands is not quickly broken. 4 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12 WEB)
Firstly, we must emphasize the importance of seeking God's help and guidance in their marriage. It is concerning that the daughter-in-law has decided not to attend the Christian marriage conference. We should pray that both of them would recognize the value of seeking biblical counsel and the support of other believers in their journey. The Bible tells us, Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety. (Proverbs 11:14 WEB)
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up this young marriage to You. Lord, You know the struggles they are facing, and You see the need they have for Your intervention. We pray, Father, that You would soften the daughter-in-law's heart and help her see the value of attending the Christian marriage conference. We pray that You would give them both a willing spirit to seek Your face and Your will for their marriage.
We pray for unity in their marriage, Lord. We pray that they would be of one mind and one spirit, that they would bear with one another in love, and that they would be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave them. (Ephesians 4:32 WEB)
We pray for wisdom for them, Lord. We pray that You would guide them and give them discernment as they navigate the challenges of marriage and parenthood. We pray that they would be open to biblical counsel and that they would be teachable and humble in spirit.
We also pray for their five-month-old baby, Lord. We pray that You would protect and bless this little one, and that You would give the parents wisdom and patience as they raise their child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Finally, Lord, we pray that this young couple would keep their eyes fixed on You, that they would seek You first in their marriage, and that they would trust in Your faithfulness. Help them to not be deceived by naivety or worldly counsel. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. 8 They are brought down and fallen, but we are risen and stand upright. 9 LORD, save us! Let the King hear us when we call. (Psalm 20:7-9)
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage this young couple to remember that marriage is a lifelong commitment, and that with God's help, they can overcome any obstacle and work through any struggle. We urge them to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus, to seek Him first in their marriage. When they are facing a problem that they cannot resolve, they should be praying. And seek God's will. We encourage them to listen as God leads them and guides them through the scriptures.
Finally, we encourage them to be open to biblical counsel and to be teachable in spirit. We pray that God would give them wisdom and discernment as they navigate the challenges of marriage and parenthood.
