We are truly grateful to join you in prayer regarding your desire for marriage and a family. God's design for marriage is beautiful and sacred, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. As we pray, let's remember the words of Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in God. Commit your way to God; trust also in him, and he will do this" and also Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in God with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Firstly, we commend you for mentioning the name of Jesus, as it is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. As it says in scripture, God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth. (Phil 2:9-10)
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who longs for a godly spouse and a family. We know that a family is a heritage from You O Lord, and a reward that is bestowed from You. Father, we ask that You will guide them to the person You have set apart for them, someone who will love, cherish, and honor them as You intend. We have Psalm 37:4 in mind that says, "Delight yourself in God, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Help them to believe and trust in You and show them to be content with the living God.
We pray for someone who sees, accepts, appreciates, and helps them to feel safe, valued, heard, and loved consistently. We know that You, O God, are the great Comforter and that You see the depths of their heart. You know their desires and needs, and You alone can satisfy. Your eyes are roaming to and fro on the earth for those whom You can show strong on behalf of. Help them and reveal to them 'the one' according to Your will.
If they are struggling with any bitterness, pain from a past relationship, fear or worry about being alone, Lord we pray for their healing and comfort. Your word says to cast all our cares upon You, because You care for us. (1 Peter 5:7)
We pray for patience and contentment while they wait on Your timing. We pray that the person that You have for them will be revealed to them. We pray for a strong godly marriage that honors and glorifies Your name. We pray this believing that it is only by the name of Jesus that we even have access to God to ask anything. And it is in His name and the name of Jesus, that we have the greatest blessing and foundation for a marriage.
We pray that they will become one with you and their spouse and that their marriage will be strengthened against anything that the enemy may oppose them with. As it says in Ecclesiastes 4:12 And if a man prevail against him that is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue trusting in God's perfect timing and plan for your life. He knows the desires of your heart, God's plan is to give a future and a hope, and He will provide according to His will. Trust that whatever He does, it will be best for You!
While you wait, focus on growing your relationship with the Lord and becoming the person He desires you to be so a spouse.
