We understand your concern about the state of marriages today and why even godly people may be acting unwisely. Let's remember what the WEB says in Hosea 4:6, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God's law, I will also forget your children."
Many in society have forgotten God's laws and principles, leading to confusion and poor decisions. Even among believers, there can be a lack of understanding or application of biblical principles. God's design for marriage is clear: it is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in Matthew 19:4-6, "He answered, 'Have you not read that he who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh? So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.'"
Let us pray for a renewed understanding and commitment to God's design for marriage. Let us pray for those who are being misled by societal trends and for those who are struggling in their marriages.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up all marriages and those seeking to enter into this holy union. We pray that Your people will not be destroyed for lack of knowledge, but will seek Your face and Your will for their lives and relationships. We pray for a return to Your original design for marriage, and we ask that You strengthen and encourage those who are standing for Your principles. We pray for those who are being misled, that their eyes may be opened to Your truth. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
We must also remember to be compassionate and loving towards those who are struggling or who have made poor decisions. Our role is to guide them back to God's truth with kindness and humility, remembering that "All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 WEB.
Lastly, we must remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 WEB "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." and Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
