We are truly heartbroken to hear about the pain and suffering you are experiencing in your marriage. We will stand with you in prayer and seek God's will for your situation.
Firstly, we acknowledge that marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God, as stated in Matthew 19:4-6 WEB: "He answered, 'Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh? So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, do not let man tear apart.'"
However, the behavior you've described—harshness, anger, mind games, humiliation, and verbal abuse—is not aligned with biblical principles. God calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25 WEB). Anything less than this is not acceptable in God's eyes.
We must also address the feelings of despair and thoughts of death you mentioned. God cares deeply about your pain, and He wants to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). Remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). Please reach out to local resources, pastors, or trusted Christian friends for support during this time.
Let us pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus,
We come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ who is hurting and in desperate need of Your intervention. Lord, You see the pain, the despair, and the anguish she is experiencing in her marriage. We pray for Your healing touch upon her heart and mind. Give her the strength and wisdom to navigate this situation.
Lord, we pray for her husband. We ask that You soften his heart and convict him of his actions. Bring him to a place of repentance and transformation. Help him to see the value and worth of his wife and children, and to treat them with the love, kindness, and respect that You intend for marriages.
Guide our sister in Christ with Your wisdom. Show her the steps she needs to take, the boundaries she needs to set, and the words she needs to speak. Surround her with a supportive community of believers who can walk alongside her during this difficult time.
Most importantly, Lord, we pray that both of them would come to a saving knowledge of You, if they haven't already. Draw them close to You, and help them to seek Your will above all else.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue crying out to God, as He hears your prayers. Keep trusting in Him, and remember that He is faithful to His promises. Also, consider reaching out to your local church or a trusted Christian counselor for support and guidance during this time.
Lastly, we want to remind you of the importance of praying in Jesus' name. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father (John 14:6 WEB). Continue to seek Him and trust that He will lead you through this challenging time.
