Dearly beloved, we come before you today to lift up the sons of this anonymous believer, who has requested prayer for their future marriages. We stand together in faith, believing that God has a plan and a purpose for each of their lives, including their marriages.
Firstly, we want to remind both sons and the person who submitted this request of the importance of seeking God's will in all things, including the choice of a spouse. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:22 WEB, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh." We pray that both sons will find good wives, who fear the Lord and walk in His ways.
We also want to emphasize the importance of being equally yoked in a marriage. 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB reminds us, "Donโt be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" We pray that both sons will seek out godly women who share their faith and commitment to Christ.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today to lift up the sons of this anonymous believer. We ask, Lord, that you would guide and direct their steps as they seek out godly wives. Help them to be discerning, to seek your will above all else, and to trust in your timing. We pray that you would prepare both sons to be godly husbands, that they would love their wives as Christ loved the church, and that their marriages would be a testimony to your faithfulness and love.
We also pray for the person who submitted this request, that they would trust in your sovereignty and have peace knowing that you hold their sons in the palm of your hand. Help them to be a godly example to their sons, and to support and encourage them in their relationships.
Finally, Lord, we pray that both sons would grow in their relationship with you, that they would come to know you more deeply, and that they would seek to glorify you in all that they do.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage both sons to be intentional in their relationships, to seek out godly counsel, and to trust in the Lord with all their hearts. Psalm 37:4 WEB tells us, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." We pray that both sons would delight themselves in the Lord, and that he would give them the desires of their hearts in his perfect timing.
