We are truly ssorrowful to hear about the turmoil you're facing in your marriage, Bartusion. Let us first remind you of what God's word says about marriage and conflict in Ephesians 4:26-27, 31-32 (WEB): "Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil... Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."
Marriage is a sacred union designed by God, and we must strive to protect it. The age difference and family interference seem to be causing strain, but remember, as it is written in Matthew 19:6 (WEB), "So then they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate."
It's crucial to address the communication breakdown and your wife's withdrawal. We must encourage you to reach out to her gently and patiently, expressing your love and commitment. As it says in 1 Peter 3:7 (WEB), "You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered."
However, we must also rebuke the sin of divisiveness and manipulation if that is occurring from your wife's family. It is not godly to cause division in a marriage, as stated in Romans 16:17 (WEB), "Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for Bartusion's marriage. Lord, we ask that You soften his wife's heart and help her to communicate openly with him. We pray for the interference of her family to cease, and for unity to be restored in their marriage. We rebuke any spiritual attack on their union and ask for Your divine protection over them. Please guide them as they navigate through this challenging time, and let Your will be done in their lives.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Bartusion, we encourage you to keep praying and seeking godly counsel. Stand firm in your faith and trust that God can heal and restore your marriage. Ensure you are putting God first in your life and marriage, as ultimately, our hope lies in Him. If you or your wife have not done so, please submit your lives to Jesus Christ, as it is only through Him that we can be saved and have access to God (Acts 4:12).
