Sirhard, we understand that you are facing a multitude of concerns, and we are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance.
Firstly, let's address the concerns about your spouse. The Bible teaches us to respect and love our spouses as ourselves. In Ephesians 5:33 WEB, it says, "Nevertheless, each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband." We should pray for your spouse, that his heart would be turned towards you with love and respect. However, we must also address that the behaviors you've described—giving you a hard time over petty things, putting people down, and swearing—are not fruits of the Spirit, according to Galatians 5:22 WeB, but are manifestation of the flesh. It would help to come together to speak lovingly with him about these things and find a way to work this out in a biblical way, possibly with the assistance of a Christian marriage counselor. We understand that it can hurt the marriage to compare or be critical of a spouse in public or in private, so ensure you follow Matthew 18:15-17 WEB first should you seek our advice in these situations. If we must rebuke, we must use love and clarity from the word. Let's pray to help you both.
Regarding your worries and sleep, remember what it says in 1 Peter 5:7 WEB, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." And for peace, Philippians 4:7 WEB tells us, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We must trust, Jesus is omitted, in your request. We must call on Jesus Christ in our prayers. This is because there is only prayer in Jesus name for it to be heard by God. This promise is reaffirmed in scripture, so let’s remember, John 14:13 WEB says, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." Lets pray!
Concerning your adult children visiting you at Christmas, we pray that your home will be a place of love and warmth, where your children would want to be. However, we must also consider that they may have their own lives and families to tend to. In Colossians 3:20 WEB, it says "Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord." This verse can still apply to adult children. Let us pray with these things in mind.
As for your son's health, we pray for his healing in the name of Jesus. Remember, God is the ultimate healer. Concerning your mother, we pray for her long life, as honoring our parents is the first commandment with a promise (Ephesians 6:2-3 WEB).
Regarding your work it says " Colossians 3:23 WEB "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,", . Let us pray that you may put your best foot forward.
Concerning your friendships, let’s remember that Proverbs 13:20 WEB says, "He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm."And that those friends be married Christian women. It should go without saying that friendships with other married women should be godly in design. It is not Gods will that we go against our spouse or that they go against us.
As for disagreements with your spouse about friendships or coming home late, we encourage open, loving communication. It is of course important to allow each other healthy community with other Christian believers, but both parties should not provoke one another.. Consider each other's feelings and be guided by the will of the Lord. We see this in Acts 15:36-41 when Barnabas and Paul disagreed on taking John Mark. They peacefully separated after making every effort and kept focus on their ministries.
Lastly, regarding the leak and restoration payment, we pray that your company will act with integrity, but we also remind you as Timothy 6:6 WEB says "But godliness with contentment is great gain." Let's pray!
Let Us Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, Jesus said that you know what we need before we ask. We come before You, lifting up Sirhard and their family. We pray for peace for their relationship with their spouse, with help to repair communication, and develop respect and love. We pray that their worries will cease, and in place peace will be with them. We pray for the health of their family and their future together.
Lord, we pray this in Jesus' name. We ask that you guide and protect Sirhard, and may their prayers be answered according to Your will. Help them to trust that nothing is impossible with You and that You work all things together for the good of those who love You.
Lord Jesus be humble and gentle. Cast your cares upon Lord Jesus. Help Sirhard to be thankful and model Christian spouse of the Lord. We pray and ask this in Jesus' name. Amen!
