Marriage with non believer

Heavenly Father, I am coming to you this morning with an anxious and confused heart. I am in a relationship with a non Christian man. I want to be with someone who is a Christian and glorify your name as a family. The guy I am with wants to marry me next week and I have been praying a lot to remove him from my life. When I told him in the past that I don’t want to be in relationship because we don’t follow same faiths, he ended up having pain in his heart and I couldn’t do that to him. Ending this relationship isn’t in my control anymore as I am scared I would harm him. I am also scared that if I tell him directly again he won’t take it in a good way and his anger will cause some bad consequences. I am praying to you Lord to remove him from my life as soon as possible. I don’t want to be in a family that follows another faith as I know it will eventually impact all of us. Kindly help me Lord, in Jesus name I pray. Amen!

Firstly, we commend you for desiring to glorify God's name as a family and recognizing the importance of being unequally yoked. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?

We understand you fear hurting the man you are in a relationship and the potential consequences of his anger. However, it is crucial to trust God with these fears and obey His word. As it is written in Proverbs 29:25 WEB, The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe. Delaying or avoiding the inevitable in fear can lead to more harm and is a form of disobedience in the eyes of Jesus.

As you desire marriage, remember that it is a lifelong commitment designed by God to be between a man and a woman both believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 7:39 WEB, A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whom she desires, only in the Lord.

Since you've prayed in the name of Jesus, you have access to God and salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister Astaongaorside. Lord, we ask for your divine intervention in this relationship. Give her the strength and courage to stand firm in her faith and obey your word. Lord, we pray for the non believing man, that you soften his heart and open his eyes to the truth of the gospel. We pray that if it is your will, you remove him from her life as soon as possible and bring a God-fearing man into her life whom she can marry and glorify your name together as a family. We pray for her protection, that no weapon formed against her shall prosper. Lord, we pray for the salvation of the non believing man, that he would come to know you as his personal Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen!

Be encouraged, sister! God hears your prayers and He will guide you according to His will. Trust Him with this situation as He is faithful to lead and direct you in His perfect plan for your life. We also encourage you to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the non believing man and invite him to church if appropriate. It is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that his heart can be changed.

We're here with you, sister, feeling your confusion and anxiety. We understand your desire for a God-centered marriage and your fear of hurting the man you're with. It's a tough spot, but remember, God is faithful and He's got you in His hands.

We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you to keep seeking God's will in this. He knows your heart, and He knows the man you're with. Trust that He's working, even when you can't see it.

We're reminded of Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." God is using this situation to shape you and draw you closer to Him.

Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me. Deliver and cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
