We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle in the marriage and that Benjamin does not believe in the sacrament and vows that were taken. We will stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for this situation.
Firstly, let us remember what God's word says about marriage. And he answered, Have you not read that he who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh, so then they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man put asunder. Matthew 19:4-6 WEB
Let us also remember that God's will is that a marriage will not be broken for any cause. And I say to you, Whoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, commits adultery, and whoever marries her who is put away commits adultery. Matthew 19:9 WEB
It is heartening that you desire the Holy Spirit to reconcile you both. This is only possible through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Let us pray that Benjamin will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and understand the sanctity of marriage. The Bible tells us that unbelieving husbands can be won over by the behavior of their wives when they see their respectful and pure behavior. In the same way, you wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives, while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. 1 Peter 3:1 WEB
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Benjamin and Meliza's marriage to you. Lord, you know the struggles they are facing, and you know the pain that divorce brings. We pray, Lord, that you soften Benjamin's heart and help him to see the sanctity of the vows he took before you.
We rebuke the spirit of divorce in the name of Jesus Christ. We pray for a miracle of reconciliation and restoration in this marriage. We ask, Lord, that you align their hearts and ways to yours, and that the Holy Spirit will work in their lives, drawing them closer to you and to each other.
We also pray for Benjamin's salvation. We ask, Lord, that he would come to know you personally, and that his heart would be turned towards you. We pray that Meliza would show respectful and pure behavior, and that this would win Benjamin over without a word.
We ask this all in Jesus Christ's precious name. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. The Lord that called you will equip you to be faithful in this circumstance.
