Nenthor, let us begin by acknowledging that the desire for a complete family is a God-given one. Let us remember God's design for marriage and family. The Bible tells us in Malachi 2:15, "Did he not make them one, with a portion of the Spirit in their union? And what was the one God seeking? Godly offspring. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful to the wife of your youth."
First, we must address the issue of your past. We are encouraged in the Bible to be open honest and contrite. 1 John 1:8-9 tells us, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." And again, in 2 Corinthians 7:10, "For godly sorrow, which is according to God, produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted."
Godly sorrow and repentance lead to forgiveness, and that is the key to restoring relationships. We must seek God's forgiveness and then the forgiveness of others. We cannot make someone forgive us, but we can work towards reconciliation.
However, it is crucial to remember that true love is not something we deserve or earn, but rather a gift from God. In Romans 5:8, we read, "But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." This is the model of love we should strive for in our relationshipsโa love that is not based on our past actions or perceived worthiness, but on God's grace and mercy.
Regarding forgiveness Ephesians 4:32 we read, "And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
It is also important to address that the goal of any relationship should be a God-honoring marriage. The desire for your son to have a complete family is commendable, but it is essential that this is approached in a biblical manner.
Now, let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up Nenthor and the father of her son. We ask, Lord, that You would soften his heart and help him to forgive, as You have forgiven us. We pray for a spirit of reconciliation and restoration, that You would guide them towards a God-honoring marriage.
We also pray for Nenthor, that You would give her strength and patience. Help her to trust in Your timing and Your will. We ask that You would help her to put you first as she will be able to love the father of her son better when she loves you first Matthew 22:37-39.
God, we ask You to be with their child, to provide him with the love and guidance he needs. We pray that You would be a father to the fatherless, as You have promised in Psalm 68:5.
And lastly, we pray for the salvation and sanctification of Nenthor and the father of her son. We pray they are both Christians having a relationship with Jesus Christ and God the Father. We ask for the Holy Spirit to guide them and have them both repent of their sins and turn to Jesus Christ. We ask that the father forgive Nenthor and that Nenthor forgive the father of her son if there is anything to forgive. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
