We understand that you are seeking restoration of your marriage with your ex-husband, and we want to guide you by God's Word. Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only by His name we have access to the Father and salvation (John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." ; Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" WEB).
We encourage you to continue praying for your ex-husband, but we also want to remind you of the biblical principles related to marriage and divorce. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 tells us: "But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—that the wife not leave her husband (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife." These verses show God's heart for marriage and reconciliation.
We also want to acknowledge the pain and hurt that may have led to this separation. It is essential to address the underlying issues that caused the divorce. Both parties should be willing to seek God's will and forgive each other, as forgiveness is a central theme in the Bible. Ephesians 4:32 says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
We must also clarify that prayers should be focused on seeking God's will and not manipulating or forcing another person's feelings or actions. God has given each of us free will, and we cannot override that. Instead, pray that God works in both of your hearts, transforming and guiding you both according to His will.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today lifting up your daughter who is seeking restoration in her marriage. We pray that your will be done in both of their lives. We ask for a miracle of forgiveness and reconciliation. Lord, please soften their hearts and help them to be open to your guidance. Remove any obstacles that may hinder their reconciliation, but only if it aligns with your will. Help them to seek you first and to be transformed by your love and forgiveness. We pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.
