We understand your desire to move forward in your relationship and we will join you in prayer, seeking God's will for your life. We believe that God has a plan and a purpose for you, and we trust that His timing is perfect.
Firstly, we want to encourage you to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. As it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." God knows the deepest desires of your heart, and He will guide your steps according to His will.
However, we want to lovingly remind you that as followers of Christ, we should pursue relationships that align with biblical principles. In your request, you mentioned that you want your significant other to propose or release you. We encourage you to consider that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman who are both believers in Christ. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB), "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?"
We also want to address the fact that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" We encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ and to seek His will for your life.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your will for our sister's life. Lord, we ask that You guide her steps and reveal Your plan for her relationship. We pray that if it is Your will for her to marry this person, that You would remove any obstacles that stand in the way. However, if it is not Your will, we ask that You give her the strength to walk away and trust in Your plan for her life.
Lord, we also pray that You would surround our sister with godly counsel and friends who will encourage her in her walk with You. We pray that You would give her peace and patience as she waits on Your timing.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We will continue to pray for you and trust that God will reveal His will for your life. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that God loves you and has a plan for your life.
