We understand your desire for a godly marriage and a beautiful spouse, but we want to guide you into a more biblically aligned perspective on marriage and love. Firstly, we should not focus on external beauty but rather on the internal beauty of a person's character. As stated in 1 Peter 3:3-4 WEB, "Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing; but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious."
Secondly, true love is not merely an intense feeling, but a commitment to put the needs of another person above your own.
Marriage is a lifelong commitment, and it is important to seek a spouse who shares your faith and values. As stated in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"
Regarding children, it is wonderful to desire a family. However, we should not place conditions on God's blessings and should not specify such details as the number of children, and their exact traits. Instead, we should trust in God's goodness and His plan for our lives. As Psalm 127:3 WEB reminds us, "Look, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is His reward."
Lastly, and most importantly, you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Therefore, let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this individual who desires a godly marriage and to believe in Jesus if they do not already. We pray that You will guide them to a spouse who shares their faith and values, and that their relationship will be centered on You. We pray that they will grow together in love and commitment, putting each other's needs above their own.
We ask that You bless their marriage with children, if it is Your will, and that You will be Jesus will be the center of the family. We pray that these children will grow to know and love You, and that they will be a blessing to others. We trust in Your goodness and Your plan for their lives. We pray for their future spouse in the same way.
If they do not already know Jesus, we pray that they will come to know Him as their Lord and Savior. We pray that they will turn from their sins and follow Him, trusting in His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of their sins.
We ask all of this in Jesus Christ's name
Lord, we also pray that you will guide them to a local church so that they can grow in their relationship with You and with other believers. We pray that they will become actively involved in a local church, using their gifts and talents to serve others and to glorify Your name.
We ask all of this in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
