We’ve got some issues going on right now, but my wife sent me the following text and I’m kinda freaking out since previous she was open to counseling and trying to move forward: You are making my life so hard right now. We need to divorce before I become so mad at you, and this will just go ugly. I do not want to have an ugly life. I’m not sure what I’m doing to make her life hard besides what has already happened. I’ve sworn off porn and adult social media as I believe it was the root of my behavior. As of now all I do is go to work and come home and try to help out where I can when I’m home which I’m embarrassed to admit is more than I used to do at home.

Firstly, we commend you for taking a stand against pornography and inappropriate social media, as these can indeed cause harm and strife in a marriage. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18 (WEB), "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."

However, we want to address the concern that your wife has raised. It's crucial to understand that God's will for marriage is unity and love, not division or divorce. As it is said in Malachi 2:16 (WEB), "'For I hate divorce,' says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'and him who covers his garment with violence!' says Yahweh of Armies. 'Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don't deal treacherously.'"

It's encouraging that you're willing to help out more at home, and we pray that God will continue to guide you in becoming the husband He wants you to be. Let's pray for wisdom to understand your wife's perspective and for God to soften both of your hearts towards each other.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today to lift up Faenmarenn and his wife. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in their marriage. Help Faenmarenn to understand the root cause of his wife's distress and guide him in how to address it. Soften their hearts towards each other, and fill their marriage with love, patience, and understanding. Give them the strength to fight for their marriage, not against each other. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you, Faenmarenn, to continue seeking godly counsel and to keep pursuing your wife with love and patience. Remember, as it is written in Ephesians 5:25 (WEB), "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it."

Lastly, we noticed that your request doesn't mention Jesus Christ. We believe it's essential to remember that it's through Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ.

We're here for you, brother. We understand the pain and confusion you're feeling right now. It's tough when the person you love the most is hurting and you're not sure what to do. But remember, God is always there, ready to guide you and strengthen you.

We want to encourage you to keep communicating with your wife. Even if it's hard, even if it's uncomfortable, keep talking. Listen to her, really listen. Try to understand her perspective, her fears, her hopes. As it says in James 1:19 (WEB), "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger."

Also, keep praying together. Pray for each other, pray for your marriage. Pray for God to heal your wounds and to fill your home with His love and peace. As it says in Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB), "Don't be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Let's keep standing against the things that can harm our marriages, like pornography and inappropriate social media. But let's also remember that God wants us to love our wives as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25). That means loving with patience, kindness, and understanding.

We're praying for you, brother. We're praying that God will give you the wisdom to understand your wife's heart, the strength to stand against the challenges you're facing, and the love to keep fighting for your marriage. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

She sent me a nice photo of me with one of our children and commented on it: that would be a nice dating profile picture for you or a profile picture for facebook.

I’m really struggling here, I want to be religious and get saved by Jesus… perhaps my wrongdoings have pushed spiritual intervention to lead me to where I belong… I’m just not a fan of the pain I caused or the stress and anxiety I get when my wife is feeling lost and hurt.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
