Marriage and lack of intimacy

Please keep me and my husband ### in prayer. He's an amazing man and husband. But the one thing we lack is intimacy in our marriage. Pray for unity and guidance. We have been through loss in our family.

"Our dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up this precious marriage to You. We thank You for the amazing man and husband You have given to our dear sister. Lord, we pray for unity and guidance in their marriage, as You know the struggles they have faced, including the loss in their family. Please heal their hearts and draw them closer together, just as You have commanded in Your Word, 'Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate' (Mark 10:9 WEB). Lord, we pray that You will rekindle the fire of intimacy in their marriage, as You desire for husbands and wives to enjoy one another (Proverbs 5:18-19 WEB). We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen."

In the Bible, we see numerous examples of the importance of intimacy in marriage. Song of Solomon is filled with expressions of love and desire between a husband and wife. Proverbs 5:18-19 (WEB) tells us, "Let your spring be blessed. Rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe and a graceful deer—let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Be captivated always with her love." Intimacy within marriage is a beautiful gift from God, and it is right to desire this closeness with your spouse.

However, it is crucial to remember that intimacy is not merely physical; it involves emotional and spiritual bonding as well. Make time to communicate openly with your husband about your feelings, fears, and hopes. Share in prayer and spiritual growth together, as this can strengthen your emotional connection. Additionally, be patient and understanding with one another, as both of you have likely been affected by the loss in your family. Grief can manifest in different ways, and it may take time to heal and rekindle the spark in your marriage.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue seeking the Lord together, as He is the ultimate source of unity and guidance in your marriage. Keep praying for one another and trusting in His plan for your lives. As it is written in Ecclesiastes 4:12 (WEB), "though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." With God at the center of your marriage, you can overcome any challenge that comes your way.
