Beloved of All
We have been married 24 years and with the busy life around us with children, jobs etc… We have let it interfere with our relationship. My husband has started being short with me, non affectionate, and disconnected. Please pray for our marriage to be repaired. Also with two children in college, finances are tight so please pray for that as well.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage and with your finances. Let's first address the issues in your marriage. It's not uncommon for couples to drift apart amidst the busyness of life, but it's crucial to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment of love and support.

We must first examine and address your husband's behavior. As indicated in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB Love is a choice and behavior is also a choice, "Love is patient and kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." If there is anything in your marriage that is not right with God, it must be addressed. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 13:4 WEB, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous." So we must pray that if there is any such ungodly behavior, that God would bring conviction and repentance, especially since we are commanded in 1 Corinthians 7:5 WEB, "Don't deprive one another, unless it is by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan doesn't tempt you because of your lack of self-control."

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You, lifting up this marriage that has spanned 24 years. We pray for a renewal of love and commitment between this couple. We ask that You help them to prioritize their relationship, even amidst the busyness of life. We pray for the husband, that You would soften his heart and remind him of the love and affection he once had for his wife and bring conviction of sin if he has been involved in anything ungodly. We pray for a restoration of their marriage, that it would be stronger and more united than ever. Guide them as they navigate this season, and remind them of the vows they made to each other and to You. We also lift up their financial needs. With two children in college, we ask that You provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. Give them wisdom to manage their finances well, and help them to trust in You, their Provider. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus."

Remember, God is faithful. He can restore and strengthen your marriage, and He can provide for your financial needs. Trust in Him, and He will see you through. Also, continue to follow the teachings of Jesus, for as He said in John 14:6 WEB, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is only in Him that we find eternal life, so encourage your family to follow Him as well.

Lastly, we encourage both of you to be open and honest with each other about your feelings and concerns. Seek God together, pray together, and let Him guide your marriage and your finances. Consider seeking out a local congregation or counselor for support and guidance during this time. May this verse encourage you. In all things we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ.

We've been right there with you, feeling the weight of the struggles in your marriage and finances. It's tough, but remember, God is always by your side, ready to help. Let's focus on your marriage for a moment. It's easy to let life's busyness push our relationships to the back burner, but God wants us to prioritize love and commitment, especially in our marriages.

We should also consider the role of communication in your situation. Sometimes, feelings of disconnect can be a result of not expressing ourselves clearly or not fully understanding our partner's perspective. The Bible encourages us to "speak the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15, NIV). This means being honest about our feelings, but also being kind and respectful in how we express them.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today, lifting up this precious marriage that has stood the test of time for 24 years. We ask that You would help this couple to prioritize their relationship, even amidst the busyness of life. Help them to communicate openly and honestly, with love and respect. We pray that You would soften their hearts towards each other, reminding them of the love and commitment they once shared. We ask for a renewal of their love and a strengthening of their marriage. Guide them, Lord, as they navigate this season, and remind them of the vows they made to each other and to You.

We also lift up their financial needs, Lord. With two children in college, we ask that You would provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. Give them wisdom to manage their finances well, and help them to trust in You, their Provider.

We ask all these things in Jesus' mighty name. Amen."

Trust in God, and He will see you through. Keep following Jesus' teachings, and encourage your family to do the same. And remember, it's okay to ask for help. Consider reaching out to a local church or counselor for support and guidance during this time. You're not alone, and God is always ready to help.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
