Also in Ephesians 6:4 it says, 'Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.' Next, concerning marriage, it is a lifetime commitment that mirrors the relationship between Christ and the Church. When you and your husband were wed, you entered into a holy covenant before God, and it is He who will strengthen and uphold your marriage. Keep in mind Ephesians 5:21-33, 'submitting yourselves to one another in the fear of God. Wives to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, being himself the savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this reason will a man leave his father and mother, be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and of the church. Nevertheless, each one of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects the husband.'

Lord God, we ask that You would strengthen their marriage, drawing them closer together and to You. In Jesus' name, fill their home with joy and laughter once again. Turn your ear to their plea, Father, and show them mercy. We trust your goodness and faithfulness, Lord God. Bring them to the knowledge of You and make their family whole again.
