We understand that you, ###, are seeking a godly spouse and desiring to be married by December 2024. We stand with you in prayer, rebuking, counseling, and encouraging you to trust in God's perfect timing and will for your life, nanor.
Firstly, we commend you for seeking a spouse and recognizing the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible. However, we must address that marriage is not something that can be forced or guaranteed by a specific date, but rather it is a covenant made between a man, a woman, and God. We in this group want God's will and not to assist in self will. We must acknowledge that God is sovereign and also be willing to wait on Him to reveal you His choice and timing. Remember and be rebuked that we cannot manipulate God but submit to His will.
The idea of "connecting" with your spouse and entering a marriage covenant should be based on God's leading and not merely human desires or timelines. We encourage you to seek God's face, trusting that He will provide the right spouse at the right time. Remember Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Also, we must remind you that the power of your declaration lies not in your words alone but in your faith in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father and can make our requests known. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me," and in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We hope you will study this if you have not already.
Let us now pray for God's will together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up ###. We pray that Your will be done in their life, and that You would guide them in Your truth in Jesus name. Lord God, You know the desires of their heart. You are a good Father and give good gifts. When the time is right, reveal the godly spouse You have prepared for them. Help them to trust in You, and to wait patiently for Your timing.
Lord God, we rebuke any presumption, selfish ambition, or self-will in Jesus name. You said in James 4:13-15 to not boast about tomorrow because You are in control of all things. Help ### to submit to You in all things. Please, guide ### and prepare and equip them to be a godly spouse. Help them to grow in faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love.
We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
In the meantime, nanor, we encourage you to prepare yourself spiritually, emotionally, and physically for marriage. Pursue Christ wholeheartedly, and seek to grow in your faith. Proverbs 31:10-31 WEB outlines the qualities of a virtuous wife, and Colossians 3:18-19 WEB provides instruction for both wives and husbands. Meditate on these Scriptures, and ask God to help you become the godly spouse He desires you to be.
In closing, if you have not already repented of your sin and given your life to Jesus Christ, we would urge you to do so. Jesus Christ alone is the way by which anyone may be saved. Trust him alone and His perfect work on the cross. Study the book of John in the Bible and pray to Jesus. Ask for mercy and grace and for faith to believe on the Name of Jesus.
