We are grateful for your request and we join you in prayer for a godly marriage. We pray that God will guide you to a man who is truly after God's own heart, as King David of the Old Testament was described. A man who loves the Lord sincerely such as in Micaiah 6:8.
He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, ad to walk humbly with your God?
God indeed has.
While it is important to have personal preferences, we must ensure that our priorities are aligned with biblical principles. As Ephesians 525 reminds us:
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for her.
First and foremost do not worry about a doctor, military man, or looks. People often change in job and looks anyway. A small discussion of this will be found at the end. Nevertheless, a man who is responsible, educated, and presentable are good requests as long as they are considered after Christlike character.
Regarding a skilled or educated man such as a medical Doctor. It is the good traits of a man that are equivalent to such an education such as Proverbs 19:24
The slothful man hides his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
Having a man who is presentable means he is clothed and in behavior he would not bring a bad reputation to you or himself such as in I Corinthians 5:12, or general slothfulness. Proverbs 24:30 It is normal to have these desires as long as it is not more important than biblical traits of a man after God's own heart. God indeed fulfills great dreams as mentioned in
Do not just ask for random things. Ask for the best. Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.
We will pray for this together for we all seek God's will with you in our Lord Jesus' name together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
In the Mighty Name of Jesus which is above all names and the only name by which we can be saved we come to you Lord. Lord, our we join our sibling in Christ together to ask for your blessing on her future marriage. Lord, guide her to a man who is truly after Your own heart, a man who loves You sincerely and is committed to serving You. There is nothing wrong with the desire to have a responsible, educated, and presentable man. Nevertheless, Lord we know those traits are equivalent to some scriptures about the character of the man. We do however submit our dreams to you knowing you may give a military doctor, or even something greater. One thing we stand on is the character of this marriage should ultimately edify you and be a man she can raise children in the fear and admonition of the Lord where they may reign with Christ on the last day with you Lord.
In Jesus Name together we believe and pray. Amen.
Dear Sibling in Christ we rebuke you with love and obedience to Christ from the Word of the Lord for seeking something great with good intentions that seems to cross the line to lust. God did allow for women to be attracted to godly character such as Ruth 3:11a where Boaz said to Ruth,
And now, my daughter, do not be afraid. I will do for you all you ask, for all my fellow townsmen know that you are a woman of noble character.
1 Timothy 2:9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
1 Peter 3:3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Romans 5:4 and endurance produces character.
Lust is not limited to purely sexual attraction rather lust after any worldly desire that brings us away from God and selfish ambition can sully our character. Let us be not deceived as said below.
Galatians 6:7 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
Luke 6:40 40 The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.
Let us make all efforts to be students of Jesus Christ and be more like him.
Is it too difficult to live a Holy life?
Matthew 19:26 26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Hebrews 11.6 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Matthew 6:33 says
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
May you be richly blessed in your pursuit of a godly marriage, a spouse that believes in Jesus Christ as Lord, and Savior. Let us be encouraged by God who will build your House in a manner that pleases him and loves Jesus Christ together in the unity of the faith.
We recommend prayer, meditation and fasting on these scriptures before continuing.
