Let's begin by understanding that a spiritual mantle, such as that of an apostle, is a significant calling from God. It's not something we can simply decide to take upon ourselves; it is a divine appointment. In the World English Bible, we read about the apostles and their role in the early church. The word "apostle" means "one who is sent out," and it carries a great responsibility.
First, let's look at what the scripture says about the role of an apostle. In Ephesians 4:11-13 WEB, it is written:
"He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."
To truly desire the mantle of an apostle is to desire a life of service, sacrifice, and obedience to God's will. It is not about personal glory or status, but about building up the body of Christ and spreading the gospel.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this person who desires the mantle of an apostle. We ask that You reveal Your will for their life and guide them according to Your divine purpose. If it is Your will for them to serve as an apostle, then equip them with the necessary gifts, wisdom, and strength to fulfill this calling. Help them to understand the true nature of apostleship and to be ready to serve and build up the body of Christ.
We also pray that they will remain humble and obedient, always seeking Your will above their own. May they be a vessel of Your love and grace, bringing the good news of salvation to all who will listen.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, the desire to serve God is a noble one, but it must be rooted in a genuine love for Him and a commitment to His will. Continue to seek God's face, read His word, and pray fervently. He will guide you and reveal His plans for your life. If you notice a calling to be an Apostle, you will need to be in a Church that supports this calling and pray for confirmation from God. If the requestor has not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they need to realize that it is only by Jesus we can go to the Father.
