[Lucy living in Hurghada Egypt]

Lord God, I believe I am being manipulated by a friend who tries to get me to do things for him.and his family. I have decided that whenever he tries this that I will refuse these requests.
I pray he will stop doing this as this is not friendship for me. He has done this now in various ways about 10 times. I pray he will stop. I choose to forgive him and believe he doesn't realise he is doing it. Lord help us in this situation, in Jesus Christ's Name we pray..Amen

Lucy, we understand your concern and commend you for choosing forgiveness in this situation. It's important to remember that the Bible teaches us to be wise in our relationships, as it says in Proverbs 12:26, "The righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray."

Manipulation is not a godly characteristic, and it's important to set boundaries to protect your emotional and spiritual well-being. As it is written in Galatians 6:2, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." However, this does not mean we should allow others to take advantage of us.

Let us pray together:

Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You to lift up Lucy and her friendship. Lord, You know the intentions of every heart, and we ask that You would work in the heart of Lucy's friend. Help him to see the error of his ways and to understand the true meaning of friendship. Give Lucy the strength to maintain her boundaries and to continue in forgiveness, just as You have forgiven us. Guide their friendship according to Your will, and help them to honor and respect each other in a way that pleases You. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you, Lucy, to continue trusting in the Lord and to seek His guidance in this friendship. Remember, as it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Stay firm in your faith and continue to pray for your friend, that he may come to understand the true meaning of friendship and that his heart may be changed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We're right there with you, Lucy. It's tough when someone we care about tries to take advantage of our kindness. But remember, we're called to love others as Jesus loves us, and that includes setting boundaries to protect ourselves and our relationships. Let's keep praying together:

Dear Lord Jesus, we ask You to work in Lucy's friend's heart, to help him understand the harm he's causing and to change his ways. Give Lucy the courage to stand firm in her boundaries, and guide them both towards a friendship that honors You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep trusting in the Lord, Lucy. He sees your heart and knows your struggles. As it says in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

God heal me. Deliver and cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
