Yesterday, I sought a quiet place to pray and connect with God as I’ve been struggling with His perceived “absence” lately. I decided to drive to a chapel in the woods, believing that solitude in His house would help me reach Him. However, when I arrived, the chapel was closed, even though it was supposed to be open until 8 p.m. It frustrated me, and I tried calling their number, but I couldn’t get in. Realizing I wouldn’t be able to pray there, I got back in the car and began praying while driving, talking to God as though I was on a speakerphone. What happened next was extraordinary: the Spirit washed over me like a wave. It was unmistakable, comforting, and powerful. I took that moment to test the Spirit and ask for clarity, just as David often did in his prayers for guidance. I know the Bible calls us to “test the spirits to see whether they are from God.” So I asked three questions to discern God’s will: First, “Lord, if she’s not for me, make it abundantly clear.” The Spirit stayed constant, neither increasing nor decreasing—indicating no clear answer. Then, “Lord, if she’s for me, make it abundantly clear.” At this, the Spirit intensified, surging in strength, affirming and convicting me with a clear “Yes.” Lastly, “Lord, should I send her this text message?” This was a sensitive message about the situation on the Discord server and my concerns for her well-being. The Spirit skyrocketed to the point where I was overwhelmed with tears—a definite affirmation to proceed. I sent the message, trusting in the Spirit’s guidance. Later that night, I felt the Spirit’s presence again. Once more, I sought clarity and tested it with another question: “Lord, will we meet soon, or will she respond to my message?” The Spirit rose again, affirming that I could trust in His timing and guidance. This morning at church, the sermon was on waiting, wish lists, and relationships. The pastor spoke about Simeon and Anna’s faithfulness as they waited for the Messiah’s arrival during Jesus’ dedication in Jerusalem. Simeon had been promised by the Holy Spirit that he would see the Messiah before his death, and Anna faithfully served God in fasting and prayer until that moment. It felt like God was speaking directly to me, reminding me that while He may give green lights for action, He is still in control. Just as Simeon waited patiently for God’s promise to be fulfilled, I need to trust that God’s plan is unfolding at the right time. Please pray that Maeve’s heart is softened and that she comes to know Christ. Pray that we can reconcile the past with grace and understanding and that, if it’s God’s will, this leads to a Christ-centered romantic relationship built on faith and love. Pray also that I can continue to trust in God’s timing and His plans, knowing that His ways are perfect. Finally, I ask for prayers that the Holy Spirit will come to me again tonight so that I may ask further questions with clarity and discernment. Thank you for your prayers and support—they mean the world to me as I navigate this journey.
