We understand that you're feeling a struggle in your prayer life and a desire to be more useful in God's kingdom. First, let's remember that our access to God is only through Jesus Christ. It is by His name we are saved and have access to pray to the Father. It is a privilege that He gave us when He paid for our sins on the cross. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." It is good that you mentioned waiting for Jesus as that implies you are looking for His help.
It's normal to face difficulties and feel blockages in our prayer life, but God wants us to draw near to Him, especially in times of struggle. Let us pray with you and remember the words of James: "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." James 4:8 (WEB).
Let's also remember Hebrews 4:16 (WEB), "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need."
In your struggle could be that God is calling you into deeper prayer and stronger faith. You may be going through some discipline from God. It may seem hard, but the reward will be worth it. Like any earthly father disciplines his child, so the Lord disciplines us. "Every son whom I love, I correct." Proverbs 3:12 (WEB).
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our fellow believer who desires to be more useful in Your kingdom and is struggling with prayer. Lord, we ask that You remove any blockages that hinder communication with You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit afresh and make them more useful and strong in You.
Help them not to find meeting with You difficult anymore. Give them a renewed desire and passion for prayer and Your Word. Help them to press on in faith, even when they do not see or feel immediate results.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Getting to a godly marriage can be a great goal to help you grow in your faith, prayer, and love. 1 Corinthians 7:1-2 says, "Now concerning the things about which you wrote to me: it is good for a man not to touch a woman. But because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband." This will give you a godly partnership to help you with your prayer life.
Also consider 1 Corinthians 7:8-9, "But I say to the unmarried and to widows, it is good for them if they remain even as I am. But if they don't have self-control, let them marry. For it's better to marry than to burn (sexual desires)."
Lastly, 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness? ... 'Therefore come out from among them, and be separate,' says the Lord, 'touch no unclean thing. I will receive you. I will be to you a Father. You will be to me sons and daughters,' says the Lord Almighty."
This means that if you are not married, focus on purity in your singleness and work towards a godly marriage. Only marry a Christian believer and do not marry someone who is not a Christian.
Also remember that "the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective" according to James 5:16 (WEB). You are righteous by your faith in Jesus Christ as mentioned in Romans 4:5: "But to him who doesn't work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness."
