We join you, dear sister, in humbling ourselves before Jesus, acknowledging that He is the one who knows the deepest desires of our hearts. We are grateful that you have come to Him with your request, as it is in Him that all things are possible (Matthew 19:26, WEB).
Firstly, we want to assure you that your value and worth are not defined by your marital status. You are a beloved child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14, WEB). It is understandable that you feel hurt and unwanted, but remember that God sees you, knows you, and loves you deeply (Psalm 139:1-4, WEB).
As you wait, we encourage you to continue to seek God's will for your life. Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB) tells us to "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and donโt lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." This means that as you desire marriage, you should also desire to grow in your relationship with Jesus, trusting that He has the best plan for your life.
However, we want to gently remind you that becoming a wife is not about becoming everything your potential husband wants. It is about becoming the woman that God wants you to be. 1 Peter 3:3-4 (WEB) encourages us, "Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing; but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, lifting up our sister. We ask that You would heal her heart, Lord. Comfort her in her loneliness and remind her of her worth in Your eyes. We ask that You would reveal to her the man that You have prepared for her, or give her the strength and grace to live a life devoted to You if that is Your will. Help her to trust in You and to become the woman that You want her to be. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to leave you with a verse of encouragement: "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:4-5, WEB). Keep delighting yourself in the Lord, dear sister, and trust that He has your best interests at heart.
