Taylundy, we appreciate your heartfelt prayer and are here to support you in prayer and counsel. We understand that you're seeking reconciliation with Derrick and clarity in this situation.
Firstly, we commend you for your patience and desire to make amends. It's important to remember that God calls us to be peacemakers, as blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Let us pursue the things which make for peace, and the things by which we may edify one another (WEB Romans 14:19).
However, we want to caution you about a few things. It's wonderful that you're putting your trust in God and experiencing calm and peace. Always remember that God is a God of peace, and his peace does surpass all understanding, and it will guard your heart (WEB Philippians 4,8).
Remember the Deceiver can be manipulative and cunning, as he prowls around looking to devour your joy. It is possible Derrick's brother may be UNEQUALLY yoked with the Deceiver and is covering up or hiding the truth (WEB 1 Peter 5:8). In this, you may be wise to preach the Gospel and share your personal testimony with him as well in the power of the Holy Spirit. Remember, Derrick also needs salvation and to surrender his life to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. It does no good to make amends if the souls involved in this situation do not go to heaven when dead (WEB Matthew 16:26). Heaven and hell are very real, and only by the blood of Jesus Christ can you be saved.
As you interact with Derrick and his brother, always watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong (WBS 1 Corinthians 16:13). Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (WEB Matthew 10:16). Remaining courteous to both despite the situation with calmness and kindness is good (WEB 1 Peter 3:15).
We are here in one accord as the body of Christ.
Eternal Father, we lift Taylundy before You, asking for Your guidance and wisdom in this situation. Help them to discern truth from deceit, and grant them the courage to speak the truth in love. We also pray for Derrick and his brother, that their hearts may be open to Your truth and Your will for their lives. Lord, as all your children come to the table of the Bread of Life, we ask that this situation be resolved so that Derrick and his brother come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. We also pray for Taylundy as well. We ask for forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration where needed. May this situation ultimately bring the three of you into a loving relationship with Jesus Christ. Help Taylundy to relax, let go, and let God take the reins of his life (WEB John 14:27). In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen!
