We are truly saddened to hear of the profound despair and hopelessness you are experiencing, dear friend. Major depression is a heavy burden to bear, and it's understandable that you feel overwhelmed and hopeless. However, we want to assure you that there is hope in Jesus Christ, even when it feels like all is lost.

Firstly, we want to address the feelings of hopelessness and the desire to have your life taken. We read in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God has a plan and a purpose for your life, even if it's difficult to see right now. We urge you to hold on to this promise and trust that God's plan is better than any we could imagine for ourselves.

It's also crucial to remember that our hope is not in the things of this world but in Jesus Christ. Romans 5:3-4 tells us, "We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." Hope is a fruit of the Spirit that grows even in the darkest times, and it's a hope that will not disappoint because it's rooted in the love of God (Romans 5:5).

We understand that you feel "prayed out," but we encourage you to keep talking to God, even if it's just a whisper or a groan. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." God hears your cries, and He is close to you in your pain.

Regarding the unfulfilled hopes and dreams, we must remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Trust that He has better plans for you, even if they don't look like what you initially hoped for.

Lastly, we want to address the feeling that no one cares. God cares deeply for you. He loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die for you (John 3:16). And even when it feels like people don't care, know that we, as a community of believers, care and are lifting you up in prayer.

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our dear friend who is struggling with major depression and feelings of hopelessness. Lord, we ask that You comfort and strengthen them in their time of need. Remind them of Your unfailing love and the hope they have in Jesus Christ. Help them to fix their eyes on You and trust in Your good plans for their life. Give them the energy and motivation they need to face each day, and surround them with people who will love and support them. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

Please reach out to local mental health resources or a trusted pastor for additional support during this difficult time. You are not alone, and there is help available.

We're here with you, friend, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this. We've been where you are, feeling like there's no hope, no energy, no one who cares. But we're here to tell you, it's not true. God is with you, even in the darkest times.

We understand that it's hard to find hope when it feels like all is lost, but we want to remind you of the promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God has a plan, a purpose for your life, even if it's hard to see right now.

We also want to encourage you to keep talking to God, even if it's just a whisper or a groan. He hears you, He's near to you in your pain. And remember, our hope is in Jesus Christ, not in the things of this world. Even in suffering, we can find hope and perseverance.

We care, friend. We're here, lifting you up in prayer. Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our friend who's struggling with depression and feelings of hopelessness. Lord, we ask that You comfort and strengthen them. Remind them of Your unfailing love and the hope they have in Jesus Christ. Help them to trust in Your good plans for their life. Give them the energy and motivation they need to face each day. Surround them with people who will love and support them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I also suffer from major depression. I was in your position just a few days ago. I was feeling horrible the same as you are describing and I couldn't shake the feelings away. I put on my praise and worship music and got on my phone.

I learned that many times it can feel as if we've been abandoned in the midst of an endless night. His presence is nowhere to be found, and though we cry out all we can hear sometimes is silence. The scriptures are quick to remind us that just because there's no rescue in sight doesn't mean God isn't unconcerned. They also emphasize that even when we can't feel or see him moving, he sees our pain and hears our cries. In the midst of depression, hurt and struggle, the only thing that feels real is our emotions. Because our feelings are so overwhelming, they can often block our ability to feel God even though he's close by. You must not forget God has never forsaken you especially through your greatest failures and moments of desperation and hurt.

Psalms 22:1-2 My God, my God why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.
Psalms 22:24 For has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.
Psalms 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Matthew 27:45-54 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God why have you forsaken me?")

I have a bible app (You Vision) which has everything. They offer plans and plans for different subjects which are devotions written by different people and are given as a short lesson followed by Bible verses that apply to the lesson.

Let us Pray:
Father God,

Depression feels like a heavy weight pressing consistently down on ### head, ### mind, ### body, ### heart, ### thoughts, ### breath. It’s a pressure that just won’t lift. ### can’t get relief. And yet I know ### may be feeling pressure from every side, but ### are not crushed, ### may feel alone, but ### have not been abandoned. ### may feel down, but ### is not destroyed.

I know ### is exhausted physically, but You say You will renew ### strength because ### put their hope in You.

### thoughts are filled with negativity, the worst that could happen. Unrestrained A.N.T.s (automatic negative thoughts) are swarming uncontrollably. But You say ### can take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.

Hopelessness is the season ### drowning in, but You say You have a special future planned just for ###.

So no matter how ### feel they know Your truth. ### knows ### mind and ### body are weak and allowing these negative thoughts and despair to invade but Your Grace is sufficient. ### weakness makes room for Your power.

So ### will keep moving forward. Taking one day, one moment at a time. Knowing that if ### keep their eyes on You, You will help ###, because You love ###.

And because ### loves You, you will work all things out for ### good.

Thank you Father. ### will be joyful because ### still have hope, patience through this affliction and continue to pray to You in faith.

In Jesus name,

Amen
