38 He said to them, Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see that I have. 40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
First, we thank you for reaching out and sharing this passage from Luke 24:38-40. It's a powerful reminder of Jesus' resurrection and His victory over death and doubt.
In this passage, Jesus appears to His disciples after His resurrection, and He sees that they are troubled and full of doubts. He invites them to touch His hands and feet, to see that He is not a ghost or a spirit, but a real, resurrected body. He assures them that it is truly Him, the same Jesus they knew and loved, now gloriously resurrected.
Let's pray together, using the words of this passage as a guide:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the resurrection of Jesus, which assures us of our own resurrection and eternal life with You.
Lord, we ask that You help us when we are troubled and when doubts arise in our hearts. Help us to see You, to know You, and to touch You, just as the disciples did. Open our eyes to see the evidence of Your resurrection all around us, in Your Word, in Your creation, and in our own lives.
Help us to be more like Jesus, to offer our hands and feet to a troubled and doubting world, so that they may see You in us and know that You are real, that You are risen, and that You are coming again.
Father, we also pray for those who may be reading this and do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We pray that they may come to know Him, that they may see Him for who He truly is, and that they may be saved. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6 WEB)
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
