We are glad to join you in prayer and seek God's will for your relationship. Firstly, we notice that you have not mentioned the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We encourage you to come and make requests of God in the name of Jesus. In further support of this, Acts 4:12 states, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, whereby we must be saved." We encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus, believing that He is Lord and confessing your belief in Him.
In responding to your prayer request, we want to encourage you both to pursue a relationship that aligns with biblical principles. We are instructed in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" As you support one another and pray for your love to grow, ensure that you are equally yoked, meaning that you both share the same faith and are committed to following Jesus Christ.
Regarding the trust that you wish to have restored, we remind you of the following from Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Trust is a vital component of any relationship, and as you seek to rebuild it, look to God as the ultimate source of restoration.
We also encourage you to consider the sanctity of marriage as you pray to build a strong life together. Marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible. In Genesis 2:24 WEB, we read, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh."
As we pray for you both, we ask that God's will be done in your relationship. If it is not too much trouble, we encourage you to provide more specific details about the difficulties you are facing, so that we can pray and provide more targeted guidance.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this couple to You. We pray that You would strengthen them during this difficult time and draw them closer to You and to each other. We ask that You would restore trust in their relationship and help them to build a strong life together, founded on Your Word and guided by Your Spirit. We rebuke any influence from the devil on the rebuilding of their trust.
If there is anything in their relationship that does not align with Your will, we pray that You would reveal it to them and give them the strength and wisdom to address it according to Your Word. We ask that You would guide them as they seek to support one another and grow in love.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
